Yesterday I blogged about fronting and the dangers of it when you are looking for young drivers car insurance. However, I’m going to give you a different option instead today. Although you should never go on a parent’s insurance policy if you are the main driver, there is nothing wrong with putting a parent on your insurance policy if your mum or dad may drive your car from time to time, no matter how infrequently.
If you put a parent on your car insurance policy then you will find that your premiums are slightly discounted. In some cases the difference is barely noticable but in other cases, you can save up to 10% by having a responsible adult with a clean driving license and some no claims years behind them on the same policy. Providing that you are the main driver, there is absolutely nothing wrong with this at all because you would be the policyholder. Try it and see.
