Van insurance is absolutely necessary if you work in a job that requires you to have your own van for business purposes. Even if it is a company van you may still be required to pay a part or all of the related insurance costs because that is often a term of working contracts these days. However, did you know that your age will play a good part in the availability of cheap van insurance today?
Many people take it for granted that young drivers policies extend to vans but because they are obviously bigger vehicles, such policies all too often do not. Under 25s may find it incredibly difficult to find van insurance and under 21s will find it near on impossible. As such, why not share a van and go on as a named driver if you drive it no more than the policyholder? If you do drive it more then that is illegal thogh. However, third party policies will provide a better idea for every young van driver.

There is one golden rule of getting a hold of cheap car insurance – maximise your no claims bonus and make it work for you. Whether you have 2 years worth of no claims or 20 years worth (if you do then you should sell your secret!), you should definitely make it work for you but be warned – you may have to do a little reseach. Then again, it will save you a little cash!
So the research… Well, insurers are not required to offer no claims bonus but they do for the sake of competition rather than for the sake of offering cheap car insurance. As such, some may only offer a discount on up to 4 years of no claims whereas other take into account 10 or more years. As such, you should find out which ones offer the best deals for you depending on your years and the discount level that the provider is prepared to offer.

Did you know that one of the factors that you will need to rely on in order to get cheap car insurance is your postcode? Many people do not. There is always talk of the postcode lottery with the NHS and various other public services but the same applies to your car insurance because one of the ways in which insurers assess the risk of offering you a policy is via your postcode.
Although you cannot help where you live, you should bear in mind that the degree of cheapness of your insurance is impacted upon by that. If you live in a rural village that experiences no crime then you will get a cheaper policy than if you lived on a high crime council estate in the middle of a major city. Cheap car insurance is determined on how likely you are to claim so your postcode will play a big part.

If you own a taxi business then trying to obtain taxi insurance can be an absolute nightmare if you have to get it for the fleet rather than for individual cars. This is largely because you have to insure different drivers with different records on the road and all for a premium that represents value for money. As such, few mainstream insurers actually provide this level of cover so you may have to go to specialists.
Insuring individual cars is not always the best idea when you are trying to keep overheads low and maxmise profitability so your best bet is actually talking to an expert that can help you to locate the best deals and the best discounts. Insuring a fleet can be a headache on account of all the details you have to offer up but with a helpful voice on the end of a phone and computer, you can get your fleet and your business interests protected in no time!

When you have just passed your driving test and are looking for your first car, it is easy to want a specific car complete with alloys, a spoiler, massive stereo system and all of the latest trimmings. However, if you want young drivers car insurance that is value for money then modified cars are not very good places to start.
Modified cars have higher premiums attached to them anyway because they have been changed from their factory state and are considered dangerous. When you add this to the fact that young drivers are also more prone to having accidents, your premiums would go through the roof… that is if you get any offers for car insurance at all! Some insurers may well not even offer you any cover so your remaining options will be in the thousands so save money and be sensible.

You might think that you have nothing to think about when you take out home insurance other than roughly estimating how much your contents are worth. After all, every policy is the same right? Wrong. As with all other forms of insurance, home insurance has a whole host of extras that you can add on to your policy to maximise the value and protection that you and your belongings have. One such extra is emergency cover.
Although not all insurers will offer emergency cover, those that do recognise its value. It gives you access to workmen should you face a major emergency, such as a leak in the middle of the night. You will have a service on tap whereby you can call in an expert to at least prevent any further damage. This is highly convenient and also ensures that you get a vetted professional whom you know you can trust. For this peace of mind, having this extra is worth it.

If you have a van and are looking for van insurance quotes to see how much money you can save then you may want to look at all of the boxes that you are encouraged to tick before your quotes are provided for you. Many people do not pay attention to them but you really should if you want to save money because they indicate exactly what insurers are looking for to lower your premiums.
The first things you will see when looking for van insurance quotes is a selection of boxes asking you about whether you have an alarm or a locaked garage for night time storage. As you can tell, security is big plus for lower quotes. However, you should also be asked whether you keep anything in your van at night. If you do not then the likelihood is that your premiums will be cheaper because thieves will be deterred. This is just something that you should bear in mind!

Performance car insurance is recognised as a specialist product, as it has been for years. However, the vast majority of people getting quotes only look to mainstream providers when their existing policies come up for renewal or when purchasing one for the first time. Although mainstream providers so offer a good range of performance car insurance policies these days, you should absolutely not forget the specialists.
Specialist performance car insurance providers often know far more about what owners of performance cars want and need than mainstream providers do. Mainstream providers cater for everyone but rarely have any specialist knowledge about specific cars or types of cars. In addition to that, specialist providers actually tend to offer high value policies that are affordable these days. Using a good comparison site like Powerseeker can really help you to evaluate both effectively so you save money and get great cover.

Driving a taxi for a living does have its perks, like variation in your daily work life, but there are also problems associated with driving all the time. One of those is the risk of getting penalty points on your license. Very few taxi drivers have full clean licenses on account of the sheer number of speed cameras out there today and police patrols. If you are one of the taxi drivers that has points on their licenses then you may find that you have to pay more for taxi insurance. However, this need not be the case.
First of all, you should always make sure that your taxi insurance provider knows when your points have expired, which is 3 years down the road. This will lower your premiums when renewal time rolls around. Of course, avoiding speeding is also a good idea but then anyone can get caught out these days. Be sure to declare all points to make sure that your premiums are accurate and your cover is valid as not doing so could cost you a lot more.
