Over two million people admitted to using credit cards to pay off major bills, such as rent, mortgage costs and insurance costs in 2010, running up debts that they may now be struggling to pay off with the uncertain economic climate that we seem to be smack bang in the middle of. One such expense is performance car insurance but there are some points that you need to note ahead of time if you choose to use a credit card to pay off your annual premium in full.
You may prefer to pay your performance car insurance premiums in one go to make sure that you are fully covered and get them out of the way but this is not always a good thing. For example, some providers will not refund premiums that are already paid should you get rid of your car but if you pay monthly then you can cancel. Furthermore, paying monthly today usually requires no extra cost so it is just as economical to pay once a month, unlike paying an annual premium on a credit card, which costs interest. Think about all angles before paying it off!

Did you know that car insurance claims have risen by 23% since the start of the bad weather a fortnight ago? A study of a leading insurer has revealed that, although people are taking it easy on the roads, many people are skidding and sliding around on the ice and into other cars as well as into parked cars and stationary objects. One person even reported an accident after swerving to miss a wild boar. As such, the season of the weird and wonderful is here.
Of all of the claims put in though more are being placed on performance car insurance than any other type of insurance. This is largely because performance cars are not only more powerful and tend to offer a less sensible drive in conditions like these but also because any modifications can make them more difficult to drive. Any modification can throw the centre of gravity off so be careful if you have a performance car, even moreso than you would be with any other car.

Sorry performance car drivers (thought I’d apologise in advance) but it is a well known fact that people with cars qualifying for performance car insurance or modified vehicle insurance drive that little bit quicker and are that little bit more reckless on the road than regular car drivers. Of course, this is a generalisation and does not apply to everyone but those of you it does apply to best be warned about winter driving this year.
Road safety groups and other well known motoring organsations are warning performance car drivers that this year may be more dangerous than ever for those heading out at speed. Some councils have responded to the weather of last year by resurfacing roads so they are too smooth but others have not managed to get rid of all potholes from the snow earlier this year. As such, there are more hazards than ever. Just be vigilant and make sure that you are prepared for anything!

Misfuelling is one of those things that we all laugh at, unsure of how anyone can get mixed up at the petrol pumpand pump the wrong type of fuel into their cars. However, despite that, more than 400 people up and down the UK do it every single day. The problem is that driving off when it has happened to you is the worst possible thing you can do because it will ensure that the wrong fuel makes its way round your system and your performance car insurance will not cover you for it.
Now there are services provided by a well known roadside recovery specialist that will essentially save you all the time and cash you would normally spend getting your performance engine restored. They come to you and flush your engine out so you can be on your way in less than an hour. It is certainly a service worth looking into.

A renowned and respected performance car insurance provider has recently reported that more than 800 people die on the roads every year as a direct result of road rage, or disrespectful driving as it is commonly termed. This is showing a rise year on year and proving that we are getting worse on the roads. Not only are drivers getting ruder but they are also causing more accidents whichwill ultimately put car insurance premiums up.
If you are one of the people that know you have an issue with road rage then there are now classes you can take and people you can talk to about it. It is time to take matters into your own hands or else you will find that you end up in trouble with the law because there is likely to be a major crackdown on it. Make sure that you solve your issues as soon as possible.

We all know that performance cars are highly tuned and primed things. They have a fine balance about them that sets them head and shoulders above the other cars on the road. As such, you absolutely have to consider performing MAS at some stage durin this week or else risk your performance car insurance in the coming months.
So what is MAS? Well, I put together the acronym because its easy to remember for all performance car drivers out there. Maintenance After Snow is absolutely essential for all drivers following the awful weather we have been having but it is more important for performance cars because the bad weather can have dire implications.
With grit on the roads, ice everywhere and cold air whistling around your vehicle, it can upset the balance of the engine and cause untold and expensive damage. Be sure to make sure that your car is free of problems in the near future to save heartache later.

In the last couple of weeks, the weather has changed dramatically. The car is iced up every morning and the steam coming out of the exhaust blocks your rear mirror. As such, it is time to be careful on the roads when you head out. This is especially true if you have a performance car. Performance car insurance is more expensive than most policies and so any slight knock will put your insurance right up immediately. However, being that little bit more careful is not easy when you have a car that can reach fantastic speeds as and when you want.
With performance car insurance and cold mornings, it is important to keep control of your vehicle. This, in itself, is not easy for any vehicle but you have to be strong. You have to take it easy, refuse to let the icy roads send you spinning. If you do not feel confident in a performance car during adverse weather then be sure to look into getting another car because comfort is often the key to maintaining control.

Christmas is well and truly on its ways so you’re probably planning the shopping list for food, booze and presents. Some nip across to France to pick up the alcohol for the hilday but if you are going to this year and you have a performance car insurance policy bear in mind that the trip may cost you more than you thought. From now on, motoring offences like speeding can follow you all the way back home.
There is a brand new European treaty in force that now allows and promotes the sharing of data in European member countries. As such, if you speed in France then there is absolutely nothing to stop the offence following you because governments can now chase and your home country is obliged to comply. Given the fact that most people do not know the roads abroad and speed camera numbers are rising (1400 in France alone) with the new camera types that I discussed early this month, you might be expecting problems with the cost of your performance car insurance in the future!
