The Honda SP1 and SP2 were built to prove a point that they could beat the Ducatis out on the track using a V-twin engine. The bike is very well put together and sounds like it should be still on the track however it is not quite as fast as it looks. Unfortunately the power was too much for the chassis and the riding position is a little cramped. The SP1 had problems with the fuel injection system making it a little bubbly and predictable. The SP2 has an extra 4bhp over the SP1 and had a modified fuel system which makes it easier to handle. Both bikes have firm suspension and take a lot of rider capability to throw it around accurately. Parts are machined with precision, suspension is Showa and the brakes are top notch - to be fair, this is a lot of bike for £10k new. In short, the Honda SP1 and SP2 have great attention to detail and owning one will surely stick a smile on your face. The insurance on the Honda SP 1/2 is grouped at 17 so this is not going to be the cheapest sports bike to insure.
