No Car Insurance After Dark?
An insurance company has developed a mechanism whereby you can save up to 40% on your car insurance premium depending upon your personal circumstances.
The system is designed primarily for young drivers where car insurance can prove to be extremely costly (usually more than the car itself). However there is a catch! You can't drive your car at night! We are not yet sure about the time restriction, but we do know that the car is fitted with a tracking system installed behind the dashboard. This system is triggered when the car is started after a set time. Should you drive your car out of hours, you are still insured however will incur a surcharge of £25 per night.
A typical example of a young driver who would use this new system would be a 21 year old male who owns a vehicle worth £1300. His insurance premium for this car however is £1900 (how can people afford this and how can the car insurance companies justify this level of cost?). The new car insurance premium for this driver taking advantage of this new system would be £1140 - a massive £760 saving!
It's not the most practical way of motoring but can save a huge amount of money initially. If you are on this scheme and want to tell us more about your circumstances, how much money you have saved and how difficult it is to resist going out in the evening, Powerseeker would love to hear from you - please write to advertising@powerseeker.co.uk.
