The next revolution in the car market seems to obviously be the electric car. Offered as an alternative to petrol and diesel cars, much has been made of them in the British media of late and their problems and drawbacks are well illustrated. However, that is not to say that they are poorly designed cars. The Renault Twizy offers proof of that.
An electric car that was introduced at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show, the Renault Twizy is a concept car and one that really is as compact as it looks in images. It does has an appeal thanks to its looks but if you are over 6 feet tall then it may lose that appeal when you try to get in it.
There are two versions of the Renault Twizy, neither of which have a great deal of power. One has a 20hp motor and the other has a 5hp motor, although both have an integrated charger that makes it easier to plug in no matter where you are. The battery has had technical issues but they appear to be resolved now so the Twizy is ready to roll.
If you do want to give the Renault Twizy a go then you will need a good car insurance policy before you start, and they are relatively affordable. However, you can potentially get a better policy and a better deal by looking around. Check out Powerseeker, the comparison engine that gives you access to a range of top providers within minutes. You will be surprised at just what is available.
Car Insurance quotes for the Renault Twizy: Third Party, Third Party Fire & Theft and Fully Comprehensive Policies
