The Mazda 2 has to be one of the most confusing cars on the market today. It has been around since 1996 and in that time it has been known as several names, most notably the Mazda Demio, and has morphed from a minivan in its first generation through to a subcompact supermini in its third generation. This is why we will be looking at the third generation alone in this quick review.
The third generation Mazda 2 was actually the 2008 World Car of the Year and that speaks volumes for the model. Available as a 5 door or 3 door hatchback or a 4 door saloon, it is also available in a range of engines, including the 1.3L and 1.5L I4 petrol engines and 1.4L and I.6L I4 diesel engines. None of the options are incredibly powerful, with the top level being 102hp for the 1.5L, but they are reliable and perform well on the road.
Given how small a car the Mazda 2 actually is, you might be surprised to find that it does offer plenty of room internally as well as a stylish and sleek body on the outside. The Mazda 2 is actually very well designed and will appeal aesthetically to people of all ages.
As it is in car insurance groups 3 to 5, the Mazda 2 is quite cost effective to run but then everyone needs to save money wherever possible at the moment. As such, you might want to see whether you can save even more money on your premiums. Powerseeker gives you the means to do just that as a gateway to more than 90 insurers. Simply fill in the form and then compare the quotes in your own time.
Car Insurance quotes for the Mazda 2: Third Party, Third Party Fire & Theft and Fully Comprehensive Policies
