The BMW X1 is the German manufacturers answer to its competitors that have capitalised on the demand for SUV type vehicles in the recent past. Released in 2009, the X1 is a part of the Sports Activity Series and has some amazing specifications on paper, but does it live up to that in reality?
The answer is a resounding yes. Taking the aesthetics first, the BMW X1 is a phenomenal vehicle. It has sleek, clean lines and an absolutely gorgeous body. It is impossible to dislike it in any way. The interior also oozes style and combines timeless fabrics with space and comfort, including 420L of storage space.
The BMW X1 specs come in two varieties - the technological and the performance based specs. Taking the former first, the BMW has spared no expense. There is performance control, adaptive cruise control and a rear view camera, amongst other elements, which all contribute to the smooth on road performance. It is not recommended to use the X1 off road though and this is a major weakness when placed against the competition.
Looking at the performance on the road now, the variety of models has a maximum power level of 201hp and a top speed of 139mph. It also has an acceleration of 7.3 seconds between 0 and 100km/h.
Considering all of the above, the insurance grouping is not as high as you might expect. The BMW X1 is in group 14. As such, you will need to compare car insurance quotes to attempt to find the best deal for you. Powerseeker allows you to do just that with more than 90 insurers available through just one form so you need not go anywhere else.
